Back to Uni
#120 – Back to Uni (Static)

#120 – Back to Uni (Panimating)

There will be a time, and a day you might curse
When you’ll find yourself flinching, on your knee.
Oh, you thought you’d have it all sweet and moony?
Alas, it will come, a shocker, bitter and terse.

No, no, my dear child, this is not about you or me,
Nor because of luck, fate and circumstances adverse.
Sorry to spoil your dreams and hopes, little bunny,
It just is. Don’t blame any gods and daemons perverse.

So it goes, by the cryptic laws of this brave universe.
But here’s the secret to sail and fare well, honey:
It is a charade, to be solved the same way you converse,
With a mood far from gloomy, but rather jolly and spoony.

No matter the hardship, the challenges you may traverse,
You are your best friend, lest anyone call you a looney!
Let others flock where dead ends, and follow the hearse,
Whilst your mind roams free and hungry, back to uni.

“The story so far:
In the beginning the Universe was created.
This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.”

“There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable.
There is another theory which states that this has already happened.”

― Douglas Adams, The Restaurant at the End of the Universe

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,
the First and the Last,
the Beginning and the End.”
― Revelation 22:13

Mind is like these ancient clockworks, made of cogs, springs, levers and handles: It always comes back to Midnight, and it catches up with the leap second every time it’s wound up again. And there I am on this austral winter morning, opening again my black Moleskine notebooks, and watching brainy keynotes from the Perimeter institute, about black holes, quantum mechanics, the big bang and the multiverse hypothesis.

By the way, if you’re biting into these puzzling questions too, you should subscribe right now:

The familiar questions pop back in my head: Where does the universe come from? What is the fabric of space time? What is this information vs entropy bargain going on at inter-galactic scales?

Yes indeed, I am back to the question of life, the universe and everything …
back to reading Stephen Hawking and Douglas Adams …
back to attending the brain teasing classes of Leonard Suskind …

Back to Uni!
Unless it turns out to be Multi?

For this animation, I fire up Chaotica, and I look at a way to visually represent a multidimensional space-time in which brane worlds are spawned, and drift and interact with each other.

Branes can be sub-manifolds of 6-dimensional surfaces such as the Calabi-Yau manifold

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brane

The fabric of space time itself, and the causality rules it might rely on, is suggested by a network of lines and curves delineating regions of space-time obeying to different laws of physics.

The whole thing is animated in Chaotica too, using a simple symmetric inversion of all affine parameters over 60s.

Final renders take place in the usual suspect stages: FX Photo Studio Pro, Pixelmator and Final Cut Pro.

The soundtrack this time is courtesy of Anjunadeep, and it’s called “Down the Wall”, from EP album Cubicolor. You gotta love tove those symmetry FX 😉
