The Matrix first appeared on screens in 1999, 17 years ago, can you believe it?
One of the most fascinating scene is when Morpheus explains to Neo what is the Matrix, and how it can be emulated to simulate pretty much any sort of virtual reality. The crew of the Nebuchadnezzar has pulled together a software framework they call the Construct, and that’s where Morpheus takes Neo for a first set of revelations, explaining how the modern reality has been turned into a Neural interaction between human brains, with a view to leverage their electrical energy, turning human bodies to mere batteries.
Toying with real time 3D engine such as Unreal 4 or Unity 3d 5, and trying my skills at speed level design, it now strikes me to see how close the software stage can be compared to the Construct. Wondering what I am talking about? Well, let’s have a stroll through a nursery I just started in Unity3D, that should cause some goose bumps.
